Migration guide, from V1 to V2

Using our new version (Starfish) is very easy. Most of the data will remain the same as in V1. However we have changed some things from the ground up. For this it is not possible to migrate them automatically.

Prices / rates

Prices are more centralized and they do not depend on an accommodation anymore. You can now create one rate with prices and connect it to several accommodations. This makes it much easier to maintain the prices when you have much accommodations.

We have given the interface a complete makeover. It gives you a better overview of the prices and with bulk and copy actions you can set prices much quicker. 

The last reason for the change is the evolving market. With fast rising energy prices and an uncertain economy it’s almost impossible to create a fixed price list for next year. This price grid makes it easier to change prices during the season and with dynamic pricing rules you can increase the revenue.

E-Mails

Automated emails (Notifications in v1) are a must have for a great user experience! In Starfish we have improved this functionality with a ton of new features. You can use more reservation and guest data in your emails, add attachments, test them and brand them just as you like!

Also it’s possible to send bulk emails. Is there a traffic jam? Then send out a quick email to everyone who is arriving today. And what do you think of the integrated statistics? Check if the email has been delivered, view who opened your emails and how many times they clicked on it.

Options, Taxes and discounts

Just like prices, we also separated Options, Taxes and discounts from the accommodation. Everything you add to an accommodation are now products. Per accommodation you can set conditions like the duration, promo code or valid period.

Products

They will get an important role within camping.care. You are able to add more settings like the product type. Is it a fixed price or a price per night? Or you can set it to percent, so it wil calculate the percentage of a certain amount of money.

Interactive map

To improve mobile performance we have changed the way we generate the interactive map. It’s faster to set up and you are able to change it by uploading a new image very easily.

Online booking

We have been testing with our new booking engine last summer. We have done stress tests and compared the conversion rate with the old booking engine. Resulting in a better user experience and a better overview of the availability.

We also added more branding options, like button and background colors. And we’ve added a website widget, so you can integrate into your own website very easily. Check an example here:
